"Ah, beer. The cause of and the solution to all of life's problems."—Homer Simpson.
Walgreens (NYSE: WAG) has expanded the definition of "medicine" once again with the introduction of its own private label beer called Big Flats 1901. A six-pack sells for $2.99—less than the cost of a $4 prescription!
The beer's tagline: "It’s the water that makes it." (Legal disclaimer: It does not say "...makes it good.")
Dr. Stephen T. Colbert, DFA, provides his review of this important industry development in the video clip below.
Question: Could this be revenge for CVS Caremark's (NYSE:CVS) first-mover advantage in the drugstore industry's Chia Obama wars?

WOW! The ATF must regulate the amount of Pabst Blue Ribbon that goes out the doors of Walgreens nationwide - ESPECIALLY in the state of Florida!! Florida has approximately 72,000 active alcoholic beverage license holders - and I think its TIME to TAKE ACTION!!! The ATF needs to see the data and ACT IMMEDIATELY!! There was over 1,000 deaths last year related to alcohol impairment - and Distributors must PAY!!
ReplyDelete(WINK) While the stats in Florida (deaths) is not a joking matter - what is confusing is the DEA's approach to CII clamp-down & abuse. Dumb & Dumber.
Good choice! Let's not forget the main tag line, I can't help but think the long term impact on health care is not good for the consumer.
