Hello, I'm a Generic!

Teva Pharmaceutical has just launched a new set of "humorous" ads to convince consumers that generics are just as good as brands. See if you can figure out what other famous ad campaign that Teva is (ahem) copying.

OK, I get the point but the ad is kinda lame. Compared to the original apple-vs-PC ads, it looks like . . . a poor imitation. That's probably not the point Teva is trying to make.

Hat tip to Mr. Medsaver.

  1. Well you can't expect a generic company to have a sense of humor, after all with their gross margins down to the minimum they don't have anything to laugh about

  2. Nice mullet on that actor. And you're right...not funny.

  3. I also noticed that the apple ads are only 30 seconds, but Teva is 1:21. Short and sweet wins.

  4. I think you are all missing the point.

  5. Dr. Fein,

Teva has a website for this campaign at http://www.yearofaffordablehealth.com/.

    The videos are posted there.

  6. Prescription costs have become increasingly difficult to manage. You can start saving by switching to generic drugs. Medtipster.com allows you to type in your drug name, dosage and zip code to search for and locate prescription drugs that are available on discount generic programs across the United States; many of which are available for as little as $4. Prescriptions that are not available on a discounted program often have therapeutic alternatives on a discounted generic program, which are also available on MedTipster’s website.
